Report a Claim

Every insured employer is mailed a complete claims packet immediately upon policy issuance.

Included are all instructions, necessary claims forms, and proper notices for posting at the place of business. 

To process a claim in a timely manner, forward completed First Reports of Injury and bills for all job related injuries to:

  • Report all work related injuries to ACA as soon as they occur or as soon as the employer becomes aware of them.
  • Use the toll-free fax number—1-800-988-4722—or email— This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  to submit First Reports of Injury (AL, GA, MS, and TN), bills and other information related to the claim.
  • Refer all medical authorization requests to ACA—telephone 334-271-6767 or toll free 1-800-388-6268.
  • Communicate with the employee and ACA throughout the claim.
  • Have some light duty available for restricted duty.
  • Advise ACA when the employee returns to work.

It is proven that early involvement in a claim is important.  It is cost effective for the employer, and can help the injured employee get proper medical care and return to work as soon as possible.

ACA enjoys working with the employer to accomplish these goals.

ACA’s claims handling unit is organized based on types of claims handled:

 

  1. More complicated lost time claims; and
  2. Less complicated medical only claims.

 

Private investigators are used on a case-by-case basis when fraud is suspected.

Local, outside attorneys are utilized when needed for litigation.

ACA uses a third-party utilization review and medical bill review service to control costs stemming from improper bill coding, incorrect treatment charges, and other billing errors.
